Philippe Arendt Joins US Heffingen
De Philippe Arendt verstäerkt den US Hiefenech fir d’Saison 2022/2023. De 24 Joer jonke Pointguard huet a senger ganzer Jugendzäit fir d’Sparta gespillt an huet och do éischt Erfarunge mat de Seniore gesammelt iert hien déi lescht Saison bäi den T71 gewiesselt ass. De Philippe war och Member vun der Jugend- an der Hären-Nationalequipe. Philippe, wat huet dech derzou beweegt op Hiefenech ze wiesselen? „Ech sinn immens frou, datt Hiefenech u mech gleeft a mir d’Méiglechkeet ugebueden huet um héchsten Niveau hei ze spillen. Sou kann ech, no 2 Joer wou ech net vill Spillzäit hat, beweise wat ech drop hunn. Ech hunn ni gäre zu Hiefenech gespillen: kleng Hal, schwéiert Ëmfeld a och war et schwéier géint d’Equipe ze spillen. Dofir freeën ech mech elo drop, elo Deel vun hinnen ze sinn an ze gesi wéi déi aner Equippen do derduerch mussen. Hiefenech ass e Club mat enger laanger Basketsgeschicht an ech hunn och nach eng al Familljebindung zu hinnen. De Max, dee schonns laang derbäi ass, war ëmmer ee Virbild fir mech an ech hoffen datt ech nach vill vun him léiere wäert. Ech si schonns richteg gespaant an ech sinn iwwerzeegt, datt mir all zesumme ganz vill Leit iwwerrasche wäerten.”

Philippe Arendt joins US Heffingen for the upcoming 2022/2023 season. The 24 year old point guard played all his Youth years for Sparta, making his debut in the senior level there before moving to T71 last season. Phillipe was also a regular presence in the Luxembourg National Youth teams, getting to represent also the Men’s National team at one point. Here’s what Philippe had to say about his move to Heffingen:
“I am thankfull to Heffingen for still believing in me and giving me the opportunity to keep playing at the highest level in Luxembourg and prove myself after 2 years not having that much playing time. I always hated to play in Heffingen as an opponent. Small gym, tough environment, tough team, so I’m looking forward to play there for the home team now and make the other teams go through a tough time. I can’t wait to play for a Club with such history in luxembourgish basketball, to which I actually have some family ties from the past, and play alongside guys like Max that I look up to and hope to learn from. I’m really excited for next season and I think, that together my new teammates, we can surprise a lot of people.”
