USH Teams Played In The Cup First Round

Si waren och mat hiren 2 Auslännerinnen ugetrueden, déi natierlech e groussen Afloss op d’Spill geholl hunn. Trotz dëse schwéieren Ëmstänn hunn eis Meedercher ni opginn. Si hunn de ganze Match vollen Asaz gewisen a bis zum Ofpëff gekämpft.
Eis Häre si géint d’Equipe vum Mambra Mamer ugetrueden. Mir si ganz gutt an de Match erakomm a louchen nom 1.Véierel schonns mat 31-13 vir. Mir hunn du gemengt, et géif fir eis e rouege Match ginn, mee déi Mamer hunn am 2. Véierel weider gekämpft a sou stoung et an der Paus 52-43. Am 3. Véierel ass de Match gekippt a Mamer huet d‘Féierung iwwerholl sou, datt mir mat 4 Punkte Retard an de leschte Véierel eragaange sinn. Réischt wéi Mamer 9 Punkte vir war, hu mir ugefaangen ze reagéieren. Mir haten e gudde Run a konnten d’Resultat erëm kippen. De Max huet d’Nerve behal, an eleng an dësem leschte Véierel, 15 Punkte fir eis geschoss an eis sou d’Victoire geséchert.

Yesterday was game night for our Men’s and Women’s teams as both played at home for the Cup. Our girls played first and faced a much stronger team in Sparta Bertrange, ending up being knocked out from the competition. Besides being a TOTAL League team, used to play at a higher level of intensity, Sparta had more arguments, including two foreign players that made a huge impact in the game. Although this defeat was expected, given the circumstances, our girls never gave the game up and kept fighting until the final whistle.
As for our Men’s team, that faced Mambra Mamer, a strong start that gave us a 31-13 lead by the end of the first quarter made us believe that it could be a quiet night for the guys but the second quarter proved everyone wrong as Mamer managed get closer on the second quarter (52-43 at half time). During the third quarter, the visitors were able to take the lead for the first time, having us going to the final quarter trailing by 4. It was just after being behind by 9 points that our guys were able to react and make a run to take the lead back. Max had a major impact on this run by scoring  15 points on the fourth quarter alone, helping Hefingen to secure the win.
